❶ Essence — Design & Structure

The Tourer is a chukka boot–style driving shoe inspired by racing footwear from the 1960s. Built on the GRS last, it balances a sharp exterior with a three-dimensional hold of the foot. NEGRONI’s original “dress-finished driving sole” combines the warmth of hand-patinated leather welts with the functionality of lightweight rubber. With a 22mm heel height, it transitions seamlessly from relaxed driving style to tailored business attire.

❷ Expression — Materials & Aesthetics

The upper is crafted from the newly reborn Negroni Leather, now made exclusively in Japan. Produced from premium Hokkaido hides, the leather features a subtly matte texture, even grain, and a luxuriously thick, supple surface. This upgrade marks the finest iteration of Negroni Leather to date. The lining employs a layered structure of leather and Ultrasuede®, creating a richly enveloping fit unique to the Tourer. Together, they embody the evolution of Japanese craftsmanship in both aesthetics and performance.

❸ Response — Comfort & Sensitivity

Negroni Leather softens quickly with wear, naturally adapting to the shape of the foot. While the profile appears sharp, the last ensures ample toe volume for comfort and freedom of movement. The S-curve structural design, combined with a horsehide insole, distributes pressure evenly and reduces fatigue during walking or long drives. The lightweight Vibram Gumlite outsole provides excellent grip, while the 80° tapered heel shape supports smooth pivoting essential for driving.

❹ Legacy — History & Heritage

The name “Tourer” revives the title once used for driving shoes sold in the 1960s. Drawing from footwear worn in Formula 1 and endurance races such as Le Mans, NEGRONI reinterpreted the classic chukka boot through modern craftsmanship. This fusion of heritage and innovation created a model that bridges the elegance of tradition with contemporary driving performance.
