❷ Selection Criteria—Choice

When you primarily use the shoes for daily commuting or city driving and want to wear them without extreme concern for the weather.

When there are rainy days, but you don't need the level of protection required for outdoor use.

For such uses, care with Collonil 1909 Supreme Protect Spray, which is less likely to change the leather's appearance, is suitable.

1909 Supreme Protect Spray is an all-in-one care spray that simultaneously waterproofs and conditions leather. It is formulated with a fluorocarbon-based component to provide water repellency, designed to act on each individual leather fiber, without forming a thick coating on the surface.

In addition, it contains leather conditioning ingredients, including cedarwood oil, which help maintain flexibility while suppressing dryness and hardening of the leather. Therefore, its main feature is that it provides waterproofing without significantly altering the leather's texture or appearance. It is less likely to impede breathability and can be easily incorporated into daily use.

1. Before use, remove dust and dirt from the surface with a brush or similar tool.
2. Hold the spray 20–30 cm away from the item and spray evenly over the entire surface.
3. Once the surface is dry, lightly smooth it with a cloth or brush as needed. If you want to avoid changing the leather's appearance, minimal polishing is sufficient.
4. It is recommended for new items or for use on days when rain is expected.
5. Instead of applying a thick coat all at once, applying several thin coats will help stabilize both the waterproofing and the condition of the leather.
