The Tourer is a chukka boot–style driving shoe inspired by racing footwear from the 1960s. Built on the GRS last, it combines a sharp exterior with a secure, three-dimensional hold of the foot. NEGRONI’s original “dress-finished driving sole” pairs the warmth of hand-patinated leather welts with the functionality of lightweight rubber. With a 22mm heel height, it adapts equally to casual driver’s style, business trousers, or even dressy tailored looks.

❷ Expression — Materials & Aesthetics

The upper is crafted from premium Tuscan suede, sourced from a trusted tannery that has supplied NEGRONI for over a decade. Its vibrant coloration and rich nap reflect a quality also favored by major maisons. Each pair is finished with a nano-ceramic water-repellent coating, providing durability across varied weather conditions. A layered lining of leather and Ultrasuede® delivers the enveloping comfort unique to chukka boots.

❸ Response — Comfort & Sensitivity

The Tourer offers a distinctive fit as if the foot were wrapped in a single piece of leather. Though sharp in appearance, the last provides ample toe volume, ensuring freedom of movement without sacrificing elegance. The S-curve structural design supports the entire foot three-dimensionally, while the lightweight Vibram Gumlite outsole balances walking comfort with precise pedal feel. The 80° tapered heel shape allows for smooth pivoting motions essential in driving positions.

Both the design and the name “Tourer” trace their roots to 1960s driving shoes. Inspired by footwear worn in Formula 1 and endurance races such as Le Mans, NEGRONI reinterprets the traditional chukka boot form through the lens of modern craftsmanship.
