❶ DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION — ESSENCE

GANNET is a driving sneaker equipped with highly elastic rubber shoelaces.

Its simple easy-entry system allows the foot to slide in smoothly without untying or retying the laces, while preserving the refined appearance of a traditional lace-up shoe. The elasticity of the rubber makes everyday on-and-off wear effortless, then naturally conforms to the foot once the shoe is on.

The shoelaces are preset to a length that balances comfort and appearance. Spare cord ends are also included, allowing the laces to be trimmed and adjusted after purchase according to the desired fit.

❷ MATERIALS AND CHARACTER — EXPRESSION

The upper combines smooth NEGRONI City Leather with suede.

Against the matte leather and suede, rubber shoelaces with a subtle sheen provide a measured accent. A debossed logo on the tongue and a contrasting frame extending from the eyelet line toward the forefoot add dimension to the otherwise minimal construction.

By emphasizing the natural textures of the materials and the structural lines of the upper, GANNET establishes its own distinctive silhouette without relying on ornamentation.

❸ COMFORT AND RESPONSIVENESS — RESPONSE

The flexible tension of the rubber shoelaces works together with cushioning positioned around the foot to provide both effortless entry and a stable fit.

A supple leather insole offers refined comfort underfoot, allowing the shoe to adapt naturally not only to driving, but also to walking and everyday movement.

Despite its straightforward construction, GANNET brings together two distinct qualities within a single fit: ease when putting the shoe on, and secure support once it is worn.

❹ HISTORY AND ORIGINS — LEGACY

GANNET inherits traces of the structural lines developed through SPEARHEAD, along with its distinctive forward-reaching silhouette.

This construction has been reinterpreted in a simpler form and evolved into a new balance through the combination of leather, suede, and rubber shoelaces.

The name GANNET is derived from the seabird known for its long, pointed beak and streamlined form. Its shape reflects the shoe’s distinctive forefoot profile, together with a sense of lightness and agility.

❺ THE ROAD AHEAD — VISION

GANNET was created to bring the driving shoe more naturally into everyday life.

Whether stepping into a car or walking through the city, it can be slipped on and worn immediately without any additional adjustment. Within that effortless accessibility, it retains NEGRONI’s distinctive fit and the refined material character of a leather shoe.

Rather than complicating its function, GANNET uses a simple mechanism to make everyday use more effortless. It represents a new approach to the driving sneaker of the future.

The upper, lining, and insole are made in Japan, and the sole is made in Italy.
The final sole-attaching process is completed one pair at a time at Negroni Factory Tokyo.
