The Grand Prix Hi-Top takes inspiration from the racing scene of the 1960s and early 1970s. The newly developed GRS last combines a sharp silhouette with generous toe volume, providing a supportive and stable fit. Rubber laces ensure easy on and off while retaining the snug comfort unique to high-top sneakers. The insole uses horsehide leather for balanced comfort and durability, designed to support both everyday wear and long drives.

❷ Expression — Materials & Aesthetics

The upper pairs lightweight, durable, and water-repellent Cordura® fabric with vintage-toned wet track calf, creating a striking contrast of textures. The lining features “Motorhide Vintage” leather, which develops a rich patina over time. This combination results in a tough, versatile shoe that adapts to a wide range of conditions while preserving a refined, classic appearance.

❸ Response — Comfort & Sensitivity

The firm structure of Cordura® initially offers a secure hold, gradually softening to conform to the foot with wear. Together with the wet track calf and horsehide insole, the shoe develops a uniquely balanced sense of rigidity and comfort. The fit remains relaxed yet responsive, translating pedal inputs with precision. From spirited three-pedal sports driving to everyday mobility, it delivers both stability and ease of use.

This model was born from years of research in which NEGRONI collected photographs and period advertisements of racers from the 1960s and 70s. By drawing from these fragments of motorsport history and combining them with modern construction and technical materials, the Grand Prix Hi-Top embodies the spirit of classic motorsport in a contemporary form.

The upper, lining, and insole are crafted in Japan, while the outsole is sourced from Italy.
Final assembly is carried out at NEGRONI Factory Tokyo, where each pair is finished by hand.
